I am a Specialist Paediatric Dietitian and current Dietetic Team Lead for blood, cells and cancer at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London. I have over 15 years’ experience working as a dietitian across community, public health and acute settings, including just over 10 years in paediatrics, alongside roles in research and education.
Through my work supporting children and families in hospital environments, I have seen first-hand the powerful role breastfeeding can play in supporting both physiological and psychological wellbeing during illness. I am particularly interested in how breastfeeding can be protected and supported in complex clinical settings, while recognising the significant challenges and barriers families may face along the way. I also have experience supporting families through a range of common infant feeding challenges, including reflux, colic, allergies and food intolerances.
I am also an NIHR Pre-Clinical Academic Fellow and have contributed to peer-reviewed research. I enjoy translating evidence into practice and supporting clinicians to make informed decisions to best support families.
Alongside my clinical work, I have experience in teaching and education, delivering training for healthcare professionals. I have taught dietitians and multidisciplinary teams within paediatrics, and have presented at national and international conferences.
Recently, I had the privilege of becoming a mother, which has given me personal insight into both the joys and challenges of breastfeeding. This experience continues to shape my approach, bringing empathy and realism to both my clinical work and teaching.
